Boo Radley vs. Radiohead

At the beginning of April, Radiohead released five audio stems (Vocals, FX/Strings/Etc., Guitars, Bass, and Drums) from their song “Nude” for purchase on iTunes. All who were interested could buy and download the tracks to participate in a remix competition they are holding on their website. There is no grand prize besides exposure. But that’s plenty worth the price of admission. And since “Nude” is probably my favorite song on In Rainbows, I decided to take a stab at it. Well the fun was had, then the work, then the ridiculousness, then the finishing touches. I did things I’ve never done before. I channeled Pete Rock and J-Dilla. I added no instrumentation of my own besides two drum machine sounds. I think it’s the most minimal and the most conventional rap song in the BR ouvre. And the conclusion?

Unfortunately, it might very well be the best Boo Radley track I’ve ever made. And I’m pretty sure Warner/Chappell Music Ltd owns it.

But please! Listen to the song below. Orient yourself to the source material. And if you like it, for the love of God, vote for it. The remix number is 1560. But just vote on the widget below, where the plus sign is. The voting happens until May 1st and it looks like I only need a mere 1460 votes to get onto the first page. So let’s get crackin’!
